These play charts may be used as teacher references, posters for the classroom, or cut out and made into lanyards for the small group tasks; It will depend on placement and grade level.

This proficiency meter takes you through the stages of learning in relation to the brain and storing information in long-term memory. Every student essentially starts with 'blank space' where they are ready to learn, then progresses by 'building pathway's' where they learn new information in the form of stimuli, then 'connects' the new information to their prior knowledge, which strengthens the neural pathways and promotes transfer to long-term memory. Students are then ready to repeat the process of learning.

This macro plan is based on a fifth grade level of Ronan Middle School's 2022-2023 school year calendar. This assignment was used as practice on how to organize S.S. standards for the entirety of the school year.

The focus of this unit will be for students to construct a deep conceptual understanding of the Triangle Sum Theorem, the properties of transversals, the Angle-Angle Similarity Postulate Theory and the Exterior Angle Theorem as a foundation for developing procedural fluency. The majority of the lessons will be hands on activities where the students are actively involved in creating their own understanding.

The focus of this unit will be to promote awareness of occupational practices, through a series of group discussions, videos, and activities. Many students are unaware of the wide variety of careers that are open to them. This unit is meant to encourage student’s belief in themselves and their unlimited potential.

The focus of this unit is to develop physically literate lifelong learners. Students will improve their physical health by participating in developing and expanding locomotor and nonlocomotor movement. Students should be thinking of heathy fitness habits they want to pursue as they get older.

The focus of this unit is to identify stereotypes and unconscious biases held by modern day society of the holiday Thanksgiving. Student will deeply explore multiple perspectives of a singular event and participate in respectful discourse about the subject. By engaging in close reading, discussions, and reflective activities, students will develop critical thinking skills and gain a deeper understanding of the complex historical narratives surrounding Thanksgiving.

The focus of this unit will be for students to develop a strong number sense of numerals 0-20 by practicing: counting with one-to-one correspondence, matching written numbers with symbolic numbers and visual quantities, writing the symbolic and written numbers, as well as discussing critical math concepts with their peers. This unit utilizes the structure of a math workshop to increase practice time and promote peer learning.

The focus of this lesson is to develop students’ number sense by using a concrete manipulative for addition with addends 1 to 9. To effectively implement this lesson, students should be able to count numbers 1-20 and should have prior experiences with basic addition. This lesson utilizes the mathematical concepts of subitizing, part-part-whole, and promotes the conceptual understanding of the base ten system by using five and ten as an anchor. It is also a precursor for understanding subtraction.

“Knees Lifted High” by Georgia Perez is a book designed to educate children, specifically Native American children, on how to take care of their bodies and prevent disease such as diabetes. In this book, Rain That Dances and his friend Thunder Cloud learn valuable lessons from Mr. Eagle, who tells them that he is sad that many of their people are getting sick, and that Rain That Dances and Thunder Cloud need to start eating healthy and moving their bodies to stay strong.

The focus of this lesson is for students to develop an educated and thoughtful understanding of the cultural holiday, Cinco De Mayo, as well as clarifying misconceptions held by mainstream society.
