About Me

My
Path to Education
My journey began as a little girl "playing teacher" with my stuffed animals, creating play charts, and teaching lessons on my overhead. As I grew into adolescence, my positive experiences in education dwindled. I had few teacher's who believed in me and my ability to succeed. I was a bookworm; A dreamer with her head in the clouds, and instead of being guided I was given up on. In high school, I even had an administrator tell me that I was never going to graduate, and had no chance of going to college.
I now have a wonderful daughter who I work to empower everyday. I believe in my ability to succeed. I believe in my daughter's. I believe in all of the children of the world. No matter their background and imperfections. They are all unique individuals with the ability to share, love, and find purpose in their community and the world.
I have always been passionate about education. I value meaningful, collaborative, project-based learning experiences that foster autonomy and a growth mindset. I will always advocate for my students, and do my best to guide them in their own journey of self-discovery and creating a new future for tomorrow.
